Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is showing ‘strong interest’ in Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Citizens, who are expected to be in the market for a new striker at the end of the 2020-21 campaign, have been linked with the 27-year-old as a potential replacement for the club’s all-time leading goal scorer Sergio Aguero.
The €90m-rated star has been in sensational form for Inter Milan since joining them in 2019. He was a key figure in helping Inter secure their first scudetto since 2010 with 21 league goals this season.
According to a leading Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset (via FcInter1908.it), the Premier League leaders had already contacted Lukaku’s entourage to sound him out over a move to the Etihad Stadium.
The report claims that Although Lukaku wants to stay at Inter, the club’s economic problems could play a key role in determining his future.
Manchester City are reportedly one of the few clubs in Europe who can still afford to sign players for very high salaries, with football’s finances having been decimated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Rather get kane and haaland. He’s still over £100m. Why we can splash a big player

Yeah but kane will be 2 times as expensive compared to Lukaku and is more injury prone compared to Lukaku.
If they are available on the same price, then Kane is a better option but otherwise no.— Casey (@SCaseyy23) May 10, 2021
While I like Lukaku at Inter, I don’t think that he’ll be a good fit at City. I’d rather us purchase Kane if we are buying a veteran striker this summer.

Let’s just stick with Delap next season
He will be the next big thing— Izzy (@izzy900is) May 10, 2021
He should be a third or fourth choice. He’s a great player, so much better than he was at United but he doesn’t fit our style as much
