Kevin De Bruyne could be in contention for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final after further scans on his injured ankle showed no further complications.
The Belgium playmaker was substituted in the second half of his side’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea.
The 29-year-old’s injury is badly timed for City as they try to retain an eight-point lead over second-placed Manchester United, while looking to win the Champions League and League Cup.
On Monday, Manchester City said they will continue to assess De Bruyne, but did not put a timeline on his recovery.
On Tuesday evening, however, a fairly positive update surrounding De Bruyne injury has surfaced.
The update comes courtesy of The Athletic’s Sam Lee, who reports that De Bruyne could be in contention for Sunday’s final, after scans on his injured ankle showed no further complications.
The report added that sources close to the midfielder are optimistic he could feature versus Spurs. If not, though, Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first-leg against PSG is considered a realistic target.
In reaction to the news shared on Twitter, many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
Let’s check out some of their reaction…
