Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of Real Madrid’s interest in Algeria international Riyad Mahrez.
The ex-Leicester talisman helped the Citizens win an unprecedented domestic treble in his first year at Etihad Stadium, and although they failed to reach the same high standards last season, he stood out with his individual performances.
The 30-year-old has now firmly established himself as one of the most consistent performers in Guardiola’s squad, featuring in 22 Premier League matches already this season.
According to Fichajes futbol via Sport Witness, Real Madrid have the winger ‘on their priority list’ ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report claims that Real Madrid acknowledge signing Mahrez would be a tough task, especially considering his current deal runs until 2023.
The La liga club reportedly see Mahrez as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale and will only move for the midfielder if the Welsh winger can be moved on this summer.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
We shouldn’t sell him

He’s loves us , he won’t go

Not available. Anyone else who says otherwise just has a personal vendetta against him.

If he keeps playing the way he is now then I’d like him to stay but when you think about it, we acc do have quite a lot of wingers and if one had to go it’s be between him or sterling for me🤷🏾♂️

We have too many wingers and some need to go, but Mahrez has been arguably our best player recently. If he continues this form till the end of the season, we cannot sell him.

We need to sell one winger imo, it’s hindering Ferran and Foden from growing and developing, it could also be a chance to move Jesus out wide

As it stand Mahrez is doing very well for the club but with a suitable transfer fee might be best to sell. He’s now 30 so the chances to get any fee suitable for him will decrease and with Foden now coming up the ranks and the rumours we’re targeting Grealish this might be good
