Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club is open to selling left-back Benjamin Mendy during the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old was signed from AS Monaco in 2017 to be City’s first-choice left-back, but unfortunately for him, things have been completely downhill despite an electric start to life under Pep Guardiola.
A number of injury problems have prevented him from ever establishing himself as a regular under Guardiola.
The Frenchman is struggling for game time this season over the impressive Joao Cancelo and rejuvenated Oleksandr Zinchenko, making a just eight appearances in the Premier League so far .
The 26-year-old, who will see his deal at the Etihad expire in 2023, is now reportedly open to leave with the club ready to sell in the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to the Telegraph, City hope to recruit at left-back this summer, and would sell Benjamin Mendy if an offer was ‘acceptable’ as the Frenchman’s market value have significantly decreased during his time at the Etihad.
However, the report adds that the defender’s wages and fitness troubles over the past few seasons make him ‘difficult’ to offload.
The Cityzens have been linked with Nuno Mendes, Robin Gosens, Nicolas Tagliafico and David Alaba over the past months as their search for a proper left-back continues.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra and City chief, Many man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

As a 3rd? You do know his weekly salary higher than Cancelo, Ederson, Zinchenko and Foden, right? Unless he’s willing to cut at least half of it, I cant see him staying.
