Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club could is now ahead of Manchester United in the queue for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish.
The England international who is having a superb campaign this season featured on City’s list of potential recruits during the last transfer window and he was admired at Etihad.
The Metro recently reported that both Manchester Club were looking to sign him for around £100m this summer but a more recent report from The Sun has suggested that City are now ahead in the queue for the Aston Villa captain.
It’s believed that they have a buy-back clause on another Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz and are willing to waive that clause as part of the negotiations to sign Grealish.
The £54 million-rated Grealish has been the driving force behind Villa’s impressive season in the Premier League this season.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Grealish and KDB give me Xavi and Iniesta vibe. I love it.

We don’t really need him. Let’s just get Haaland and go from there

I would love to see Grealish at City but wouldn’t start him ahead of De Bruyne, Gundo, or Foden so he’ll prob end up at United because he’s better than BrunOverated Penandez and Paul PogBadHaircut

We are good now, but it’s always wise to get the succession planning sorted. Gundogan is 31 next season and KDB is 30 in 3 months. So Grealish at 25 is a perfect age to come in and compliment them. Mahrez is also 30 and Grealish can play on the wings. He’d be a great addition.

If we’re intending to persist with the false-9 approach next season then it makes perfect sense. Quality player & would fit in well. However, if the plan is to buy a 9 & no one leaves I see too many players fighting for the same positions.
