Manchester City are one of the clubs linked with FC Groningen’s Gabriel Gudmundsson, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The 21-year-old Swedish left wing-back’s success this season has not gone unnoticed by some of European football’s biggest clubs.
According to Calciomercato, Manchester City are among a number of clubs weighing up a move for the Sweden Under-21s international at the end of the season.
The young Swede’s performances this season have also put the likes of Juventus, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax on high alert.
The report adds that Gabriel Gudmundsson has a contract until the summer of 2022 with the Northerners, and an option to extend his contract for another year.
If Groningen wants to realize a (substantial) million transfer on the transfer market, the coming summer transfer period seems like the time to do so.
It’s clear the Premier league club need a new left back with neither Benjamin Mendy or Oleksandr Zinchenko completely convincing in recent seasons.
The Cityzens have been linked with David Alaba, Nuno Mendes and Robin Gosens as they are keen on addressing the left side of his team.
Could Gabriel Gudmundsson be a fine signing for Manchester City?
