Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report of the club’s interest in Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.
The 24-year-old has played every minute in La Liga this season and has become a crucial part of Emery’s team. It seems only a matter of time before he earns a move to a bigger club.
According to an exclusive report from MEN, Manchester City and Manchester United both ‘hold an interest’ in the rising La Liga centre-back Pau Torres.
The report however adds that City’s interest is more ‘admiration’, with Pep Guardiola in no desperate need for a new centre-back this summer.
The Citizens made the most of the riches available to them by investing in centre-half options, with Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias snapped up during the summer.
The form of the former Benfica defender coupled with the re-emergence of John Stones has resulted in a rapid improvement for the Citizens defensively this season.
So it does come as a bit of a surprise that Guardiola is eyeing another centre-back given the impressive form of John Stones and City’s all round strong defensive record this season.
Villarreal are reportedly demanding a €65 million (£55m) fee for the 24-year-old, who has been capped 7 times by Spain.
The news has gained a mixed reaction from City fans, who recognized the club is not in desperate need of a new defender after adding Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake last summer.

City won’t sign a CB. Left back & a striker is the priority.

Pau Torres isn’t stupid enough to know that he’ll be starting on the bench if he join us
