Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a reports that claims Fernandinho has been offered a role on Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff at Etihad.
The midfielder has less than six months left on his contract, and in the summer he can leave the Etihad as a free agent if he decides against signing a new deal with the Citizens.
His future is very much in doubt as there is no signs of an intention from City to renew the player’s contract for a second year running. The Brazilain has been linked with a move to Atletico Mineiro in his native Brazil.
According to Atlético Mineiro director Rodrigo Caetano, Manchester City have made a ‘proposal’ for Fernandinho to join Pep Guardiola as an assistant coach at the club. The Brazilian club’s director confirmed his interest in in the 35-year-old mildfielder, but claimed that City have offered him a coaching role.
“There is a lot of talk because he is coming to the end of his contract. He is a ‘reference player’ at City – not only on, but a lot off the pitch too. I don’t know if you know, but there is even a proposal for him to join Pep (Guardiola) as an assistant…,” Caetano told O Tempo. said
“But he also has a situation, it seems to me, when he returns to Brazil, if he continues playing, he would give ‘preference’ to Atletico Mineiro“, Caetano continued

Would love that, but never as the head coach/manager because I don’t ever want to see #FernaOut on my timeline

Brilliant idea, the most important thing in a team is the spirit, the ethos and Fernandinho has all of that down. This is how dynasties start.

What a bloody good idea. Let’s not loose all that experience. While we’re at it – let’s get silva back to help the kids when he’s done in Spain as well, and I’d love vinny back in some form of coaching role as well.
