AC Milan are keeping an eye on Manchester City striker Jesus Gabriel as Pep Guardiola chose Erling Haaland to be the heir to Sergio Aguero.
There have been questions surrounding the future of the Brazilian striker. The 23-year-old has only managed to find the net four times this season thus pointing Guardiola toward buying another striker in the summer window.
The Italian Club’s interest is coming at a time when Manchester City are showing a keen interest to sign Erling Haaland to be the heir to Sergio Aguero, with the club’s all-time leading goalscorer potentially leaving on a free transfer.
The Mirror reported this week that City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak is ‘willing to sanction‘ a move for the Haaland this summer, with the Etihad club prepared to bid £100 million for the Norwegian forward.
According to Calciomercatoweb.it, Italian side AC Milan could look for a big signing this summer especially if they win the Scudetto, and they are keeping an eye on Jesus, who is not central to the plans of Guardiola.
The report claims that Manchester City could ask for an exchange involving Ismael Bennacer – a player they like very much, and were linked with the youngster several times during the last transfer window.
Pep Guardiola was reported to be personally convinced of the midfielder’s qualities and was keen on bringing the Algerian international to the Etihad.
Bennacer joined AC Milan at the beginning of the 2019/20 season for €16m after a two-year spell with Empoli. When he signed his contract, the €50m release clause was inserted which becomes active in summer 2021.
