Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims the club have ‘moved into position’ to secure the signature of Borussia Monchengladbach star Denis Zakaria.

The Monchengladbach midfielder has long been linked with a move to the Etihad, which should come as no surprise that the club is search for a player of Zakaria’s profile, especially considering the pending departure of Fernandinho.

Pep Guardiola’s side were linked with an interest in the 24-year-old Swiss talent just a few days ago, with reputable Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano via his Here We Go podcast, claiming that the Blues have already been in contact with Zakaria’s agent.

He said: “Manchester City are focusing on Zakaria, he is so appreciated by the board, they are following him, they are in contact with his agent. So he’s for sure on the list of Manchester City, there is nothing advanced yet because they are not negotiating yet with Borussia Monchengladbach, they need time.”

According to Fussball Transfers relayed by Sport Witness, the Citizens abd and Bayern Munich have ‘moved into position’ to sign Zakaria because remaining at Mönchengladbach is not a ‘serious option’ for the midfielder.

The reports claims that Zakaria is ‘busy’ trying to set up a move and would like to make the step up to a ‘top club’.

Zakaria joined Gladbach from Swiss side Young Boys in 2017 in a transfer which cost the Bundesliga side just £10.8m, as per Transfermarkt.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City Xtra and City Chief, many Man City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
