Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report that claims the club is set to offer England forward Raheem Sterling a new contract.
City have made new contracts for Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne their top priority after Guardiola penned an agreement that will keep him at the Etihad until 2023.
The Sky Blues pair who have been two of Europe’s best attacking players since their arrivals in 2015, are currently tied to the club until 2023 at the Etihad.
According to Fabrizio Romano on the latest edition of the ‘Here We Go’ podcast as relayed by Sport Illustrated, City ‘plan’ to offer Raheem Sterling a new contract in 2021. However, Romano does reiterate that they are yet to start talks but the intention from the club is to offer a new deal.
Sterling’s current £300,000-a-week still has more than two years to run but City believe there is still much more to come from the forward as his market value rises.
Valued at £99m via Transfermarkt, the 26 year old forward has developed into a world class player during Guardiola’s time in charge. His success in front of goal over the previous four seasons under the Spaniard cannot be questioned.
Having scored 10 goals in the manager’s first season, Sterling has since returned 23, 25 and 31 goals, winning two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and three League Cups.
His importance to City is underlined by the fact he has been involved in every one of their matches so far this season. The club may require greater persuasion with the former Liverpool man having expressed a desire to play abroad at some point during his career.

I’d make him earn a new deal first.
Bad move to give him a new contract after his poor form this season.

He’s been our top scorer for the last few seasons running aside from Kun but you know he’s a full leading the front striker? Above sane , above Mahrez literally our best winger 🤔

Rly good news. As much as he’s being slated for missing easy chances, he’s still quality and I defo wouldn’t sell him.

Why the hell not? He’s still one of the best wingers in England and is still very young so he can definitely improve.
