Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims Manchester City are moving forward with their plan to renew the contract of striker Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus has shone for City and looks a young player with a big future, but he has continued to have to settle for playing second fiddle behind main man Sergio Aguero up front in Pep Guardiola’s side.
His rapid improvement over the last 12 months has shown he is ready to take on the responsibility of Aguero when the club legend eventually leaves City.
According to Fabrizio Romano in the latest episode of the ‘Here We Go’ podcast, In June Juventus contacted Gabriel Jesus but he was convinced to stay at Etihad and City weren’t considering to let him leave.
City seem ‘convinced’ that the Brazilian is the future striker at the Etihad. Noted the journalist in his podcast revealed City seem happy with him in the long term.
Fabrizio also added a contract negotiation could happen soon. I do see the reported news as good overall for the club.
With Sergio Aguero closer than ever to an exit a new striker should be brought in for competition, regardless of Jesus standing.

Not even hit his prime yet, this guy loves to play, loyal and humble. He will reach mega numbers for us.

Tbf he did prove himself last season: 14 goals and 7 assists in only 21 games started is amazing for a 2nd choice striker

Jesus will end up breaking agueros record at city. Trust me he will eventually. Jesus is very underrated for his age. He is already a better player for his age in all of England than Rashford martial Richarlison and others and still he is slatted by city fans uno

Since he came from injury he is not taking time in finish. He and Delap can grow together. We need Haalanda as striker, we are going to need megic moments in importent matches.
