‘It’s going to be a mad plot twist’ – Fans reacts to Real Maldrid’s interest in Man City star

Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays a report of Real Madrid’s interest in 19-year-old central defender Eric Garcia.

Garcia has already confirmed his intentions to leave Man City at the end of the season. The club wanted to give him a new contract, but Pep Guardiola says the defender has turned their offers down.

Barca attempted to sign the 19-year-old in the summer but failed to agree a fee with City. The premier league club reportedly rejected Barcelona’s offer of €10 million, plus €8m in add-ons, standing firm on their demand of a total package worth €20 million for the 19-year-old.

According to TeamTalk, Real Madrid have joined their rivals Barcelona in the hunt for the Manchester City defender.

The report suggests Real Madrid might be willing to match City’s asking price of €23 million in January, as they see Garcia as a long term replacement for captain Sergio Ramos. 

The defender has refused to sign a new contract with Manchester City, and his current contract expires in the summer of 2021.
