Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims the club held ‘informal conversations’ with the representatives of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
City have an interest in signing Lautaro with manager Pep Guardiola reportedly said to deem the Argentine national team player as the ideal heir to Sergio Aguero, whose contract with the club is due to expire at the end of the current season.
According Transfer Window Podcast relayed by Sport Illustrated, ‘informal conversations’ about Lautaro Martinez have been held between Manchester City and the player’s representatives.
However, as per the report, it was also stated that when asked about who would be the City manager for the 2021/2022 season onwards, officials at the Etihad were unable to answer on the basis that Pep Guardiola’s contract expires.
The City boss has been linked with a return to former club Barcelona, though he has repeatedly insisted he is happy at the Etihad. He backed up that stance in a fresh interview ahead of this weekend’s crunch Premier League showdown with Liverpool.

He doesn’t really show up in the big games and I think he’s better in a 2 striker partnership, he’s a bulldog and has a good work rate and has a very powerful shot on him.

Lautaro 🇦🇷 no please. Is not striker for City. Should be Håland 🇳🇴. I know are few teams following him like Liverpool or Real Madrid…big options of course. If not, P. Daka 🇿🇲 or Marcus Thuram 🇫🇷 (cheappers if take an approach NOW). You know how is this bussines, rush or loose🧐
