Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that claims the club is interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.

The Zambian frontman has caught the eye of several big sides after impressing for the Austrian side last season. The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for his Austrian club this season, finding the back of the net on 12 occasions in 11 appearances in all competitions.

Agüero’s peak is clearly coming to its end and there are concerns at the Etihad that Gabriel Jesus is not of the level required to be the Argentine’s replacement.

The challenge of replacing Agüero is certainly one of the problem areas of the Man City squad. The City’s record goal scorer will enter the final year of his contract this summer and there hasn’t been any indication that he will pen fresh terms at the Etihad Stadium.

According to 90min_Football, Daka, who is valued by Salzburg in excess of £20m could join the likes of Haaland and Kylian Mbappe on City’s list of options to replace Sergio Aguero, who might yet leave the club at the end of the season.

The report adds that City are keeping a close eye on Red Bull Salzburg striker and have asked their top scouts to regularly check on Daka and provide detailed reports.

Salzburg are in a strong position when it comes to any potential negotiations, though, as they have the in-form attacker on a contract until the summer of 2024.
