Ferran Torres made an impressive champions League debut for Manchester City on Wednesday evening in their match against Porto – a game that ultimately ended with a 3-1 win at the Etihad.
The Spaniard came off the bench to score an impressive individual goal and complete Manchester City’s comeback.
The 20-year-old Spain international exchanged passes with fellow substitute Phil Foden before drifting inside and into the area, dropping his shoulder and curling a shot high into the net in the 73rd minute for City’s third goal.
Pep Guardiola saluted the ‘incredible’ combination of the two substitutes.
“It was an incredible combination from Phil and Ferran,” said the boss.
“Ferran has an incredible sense of goal. The most satisfying thing was the way they came in. Always the people who come from the bench are so important.
Torres has made a good impression so far at City and the way he drove straight at Porto’s defence before showing a calm head to cut inside and finish smartly suggests he is going to have plenty more good days in blue.

Better impact in 20 minutes than Sterling and Mahrez in 90 😐

Reminded me of the explosiveness Sane used to bring to games on that left hand side!

2 second forced them to open up their tight formation.. could’ve easily won the game by 4 or 5 goals

The Spaniard who replaced Leroy Sane in the City squad is not quite as direct as the German, but is still a more aggressive winger when running with the ball than Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva or Foden.
People say Fati, Mbappe and Felix will be the next big things after Messi and Ronaldo but I think Ferran Torres can be the one. He is such a great talent.
He has had no problem in switching from la liga to the Premier League which is amazing. He reminded me of the explosiveness Leroy Sane used to bring to games on that left hand side!
