Leipzig signed Manchester City full back Angeliño on loan for another season Tuesday after he played a leading role in the German club’s run to the Champions League semifinals.
The Spaniard, who rejoined the club from PSV in 2019, depart for a second spell at Leipzig – the side he performed so well with last campaign.
The season-long loan will include an appearance-based obligation to buy for an €18 million (£16m/$21m) fee.
Leipzig will have to make the deal permanent once the Spaniard has played 12 competitive games for Leipzig—five of those have to be played in the second half of the season.
Should that threshold be met, Leipzig would land the Spaniard on a four-year deal until 2025.
However, according to MEN, City have inserted another buy-back clause into that deal so they will be able to bring him back to the Etihad for a third time if they come back with €40m for him.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, Manchester City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.
