‘I think Liverpool could run away with it’ – Pudit’s verdict on Man City title hopes after Leicester defeat

Graeme Souness has said he reckons Liverpool could ‘run away’ with the Premier League after Manchester City’s staggering 5-2 defeat to Leicester.

In a quite disastrous start to the season, Pep Guardiola’s side shipped five goals at the Etihad to potentially provide a mini boost so early on in the season for the champions of England

Speaking on Sky Sports, Souness argued that the staggering 5-2 defeat to Leicester on sunday shows City will once again be off the pace this season – even if they land defender Ruben Dias.

He said: ‘Liverpool won by 18 points (last season). Liverpool in my opinion have strengthened big time

‘I look at City now whether Ruben Dias comes in, it’ll have to be more than Dias to take City from 18 points behind Liverpool to getting in front of them.

‘After all the teams we’ve seen that can challenge, it’s Leicester after today but we’re three games in.

‘Some players need five or six (games) to get up to speed. But right now, I think Liverpool could run away with it.’

The Reds have made the perfect start to their Premier League title defence but face a tough task against a resurgent Arsenal side.
