Manchester City Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports that the club is interested in Sevilla centre-back Jules Koundé.
Koundé adds to the list of defender strongly linked with a move to the Etihad amongst José Giménez, Upamecano, Milan Skriniar, Diego Carlos and Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, as Pep Guardiola looks to sign a new defender.
According to The Telegraph, City are looking at a deal for the French centre-back who has a £68.25 million release clause, which is within the price bracket City pay for first-team signings.
The report adds that Sevilla have expressed an interest in Nicolas Otamendi, who could be used as a makeweight in the deal.
The French player has formed one of the best central defensive partnerships in La Liga with Diego Carlos, who is also reported to be on City radar.
City aren’t alone in their interest in Koundé. He is being tracked by a number of top European clubs like Real Madrid. The former Bordeaux defender made 39 appearances during his debut season, scoring two goals.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Chief and Man City Xtra, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Will be the perfect deal 👌🏾. Yes of course bring him, cheapper than old Koulibaly 🇸🇳 and of course cheapper than Giménez 🇺🇾 or D. Carlos 🇧🇷. Sign now Koundé please!!!! Great defender!!! 😊— J@vi (@jdiazm11) September 17, 2020
He’s only 3 CM shorter then Koulibaly— 🇧🇼 (@KDB_GOAT17) September 17, 2020
This guy is brilliant in the air despite the height. And his lack of real ‘height’ helps him do many other things fantastically well too— Adithya Nair (@Adithya_murali) September 17, 2020
The boy is good but he only had one season. I won’t question his quality. I just don’t understand why is City not going for Upamecano. His release clause is €60 million. Or maybe Pep is not a fan. I’m afraid that City might not sign a great defender this season.— Fellah (@Momaverick83) September 17, 2020
You pay 70m for him and if he flops , how is he gonna have magnificent resale value ?
We signed stones for 50 and he didn’t reached his potential and flopped but he still is just 26 but teams aren’t even willing to pay 25m for him.
Is that what you call fantastic resale value ?— Casey (@SCaseyy23) September 17, 2020
