Fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relays reports of Manchester City‘s interest in Juventus full-back Alex Sandro as Pep Guardiola hunts for a new left-back this summer.
City’s underwhelming 2019/20 Premier League campaign laid bare the defensive frailties in Pep Guardiola’s squad. As lethal as Manchester City are going forward, they are porous at the back.
Pep Guardiola is ready to raid the transfer market in a bid to put Manchester City back on top of the Premier League after failing to keep pace with Jurgen Klopp’s relentless Liverpool this season.
Despite the £41m capture of Ake from Bournemouth already this summer, defenders remain the priority but deals for both a left-back and a second centre half – are still some way off.
According to Tuttosport via Sport Witness, City are ‘thinking’ about a move for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro (29), and sources close to the club have filtered out information that there is a ‘growing interest’.
The report claims Sandro too, could ‘seriously consider’ the chance to make the move, and that the good relationship between Juve and City could ‘facilitate the operation’.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by Man City xtra and City Chief, City fans have expressed their thoughts and opinions.

Should be looking at Reguilón or Grimaldo, left back position would be sorted for 10 years!— Macauley Williams (@bigmacwills) August 12, 2020
We should not be thinking about him . He is not the one we should be looking out for . Tagliafico (Ajax ) Aarón Martín( FSV Mainz 05) are much better options available.— Shivashish Roy (@ShivashishRoy5) August 12, 2020
I didn’t see many Juve games this year but the ones I did he often stood out for being very underwhelming. No longer a top player. My guess is this is his agent or Juve themselves trying to drum up interest.— Jon Peck (@abellwillring) August 12, 2020
