Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico has allegedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Manchester City.
With City having under-performed in the Premier League during the current campaign, Guardiola is expected to make significant changes to his squad later in 2020.
Left back has been an issue for City for a few years now, with Benjamin Mendy suffering injury after injury after injury. Oleksandr Zinchenko has done a fine job filling in when necessary, but he’s not the marquee full back City will be looking for moving forward.
According to Journalist Lucas Scagliola, Pep Guardiola’s side are interested in signing the Argentine defender, who has been a key part of an impressive Ajax side over recent years.
Since linking up with the Dutch giants in 2018, Tagliafico has established himself as one of the best-performing left-backs in European football.
He’s a sound defender, but if you watch a compilation of his goals you’d think he was the new Ruud van Nistelrooy – his positioning in the box is honestly just that good.
He’ll have no shortage of suitors in the summer, but if City come calling it’d be difficult for him to go anywhere else.
