Manchester City fans have been reacting to reports that UEFAis exploring changes to Financial Fair Play rules as clubs grapple with the sudden loss in revenue caused by the recent unexpected break from football.
The current FFP rules, which force clubs playing in the Champions League and Europa League to spend only what they earn, restrict owners from pumping excessive funds into clubs to spend on transfer fees and player salaries.
According to a report by the Associated Press, UEFA are now considering changes to Financial Fair Play as clubs cope with the sudden loss of revenue due to recent events – with a handful of Sky Blues supporters reacting to the update on social media
UEFA have been forced to re-evaluate their stance on letting wealthy owners pump money into their respective clubs – conceding the fact that it could be necessary to help keep certain teams from going under in the future.
In reaction to the reports, which were relayed by Man City Xtra on Twitter, Manchester City fans have flocked to share their opinions on the matter as it appears UEFA have changed their stance on FFP
with many criticising UEFA’s potential reviewing of FFP rules, after City had been banned from playing Champions League football for two years after UEFA found that they had broken FFP rules.
