Man City and Arsenal have found themselves in another contention. This time it’s not over a league title but a transfer battle for £100 million rated Newcastle United midfielder, Bruno Guimaraes.
The Brazilian has become a target for the two Premier League giants, who are determined to add more players to their squad ahead of another Premier League season.
According to GiveMeSport, Guimaraes will favour a move to Manchester City instead of joining the Gunners who have many players who could occupy his position at the heart of their midfield.
Last campaign, both Man City and Arsenal battled for the signature of Declan Rice and the England international chose the Gunners of the Sky Blues, which means that Mikel Arteta’s side have enough many midfielders fighting for the starting eleven.
Manchester City, on the other hand, are still at the market, searching for a perfect replacement for Kalvin Phillips who had to leave the club on loan in the January after failing to convince Pep Guardiola as a perfect replacement or backup for Rodri.
After joining the Sky Blues from Leeds United, the England international could not fill the void in City midfield whenever Rodri couldn’t play. As A result of this, he joined West Ham United on loan and is currently one of the players who will likely leave Man City on a permanent deal this summer.
While Phillips failed in his role at Man City, Bruno Guimaraes has been identified as a perfect player to take his place and bring more palace to the City midfield, particularly in the absence of their midfield general, Rodri.
GiveMeSport reported that the Brazilian is also ready to take up the challenge at Manchester City, although he will not force his way out of Newcastle United in other to play for the Premier League champions.
